Globalization has resulted in exciting opportunities for international education. The University of Waterloo (UW) and Nanjing University (NJU), one of China’s foremost comprehensive universities, have capitalized on those opportunities by establishing the Sino-Canadian College.

The college is the result of more than 20 years of collaboration between UW and NJU in developing and administering environmental projects in China. In 2005, NJU and UW took the relationship to a new level. The universities signed an agreement to establish joint academic programs, starting at the undergraduate level. These programs will be offered under the auspices of the Sino-Canadian College. Other planned initiatives are joint graduate programs, exchanges, short courses, and collaborative research.

Four faculties at the University of Waterloo – Arts , Environment, Mathematics, and Science, are involved in the Sino-Canadian College.
